  1. Looking back as a CI user for 13 years, I definitely don't regret it. It made my life so easy that I am very happy. Youth made it easier for me to understand in my high school and university life. Now I continue my journey with Sonnet 2. I definitely don't have days without music. I always keep in touch with the music. And I am very happy to be with you. 😊💙

Nucleus 7 vs Medel (Sonnet 2)

Hello to everyone! I have come across this great and useful site through Med-el and would love to give all of you my greetings from Turkey :)) I have found out that I have been a fine candidate of Cochlear Implant and made some audiological tests lately...My CI operation will take place in the middle of August and looking forward to getting implanted soon. Some recipients advise me to go for the other company which is cochlear and Nucleus 7....though I have chosen already Medel and Sonnet 7 . As far as I have heard about N7 is quite more expensive than sonnet 7 and do not know why it is so....

Step by step AudioStream and iPhone

I will post pics of a pdf I created for AudioStream and iPhones. Click to zoom in. EDIT: added a reboot step of AudioStream after successful configuration, showed where to find AudioStream on iPhone and suggested an easy way to disconnect/reconnect

can't re-connect AudioStream to original Sonnet

My left ear (activated 9 and a half years ago) has the original Sonnet with EAS - I have been wearing the AudioStream on this one. My right ear (activated 5 weeks ago) has the Sonnet 2. My audiologist has mapped both an EAS program and an electrical only program. Since activation I have been using the electrical only program. This week we will add the earmold and start rehabbing with the acoustic/electric program. Weirdly, I am starting to become comfortable with the electric only program. My original Sonnet also is mapped with an EAS program and an electrical only program. I ha

A very unproductive day! Such fun!

@Kerem Ozcan We do not need an audiologist to set up AudioStream and we do not need a special program. We need to download the latest AudioKey app (right now it is AudioKey 2) to configure the AudioStream before we can use it. After that, we do not need to use any special app to stream all audio.

  9. I LOVE the AudioStream! Thank you to the Med-El engineers who designed AudioStream! @MED-EL Moderator Terrific audio quality and music sounds amazing! Phone calls take precedence and then we return automatically to whatever we were streaming. There are audible “thunk” sounds when it connects and switches. This is a fabulous connectivity device for Sonnet/Sonnet 2. I am using Power One implant disposable batteries. The slightly longer battery cover does not bother me.

  10. @Kerem Ozcan AudioStream info can be found here https://blog.medel.pro/sonnet-direct-streaming/ There is a link to compatible phones/tablets. I have not seen the AudioStream manual online.

can't re-connect AudioStream to original Sonnet

Thank you so much @Mary Beth. I am looking forward to a second one, and not just so I won't be 'forced' to hear myself sing LOL. (When I attempt to sing along, the mic of the processor without the AudioStream picks up my voice, so I hear the good singer in one ear and me in the other.) Thanks again and have a great day.

A very unproductive day! Such fun!

@Jared Charney The AudioStream is quite amazing! If you keep the AudioStream cover on all the time, you can turn off the connection just by turning off your phone’s BT in the control panel. When you turn BT back on, AudioStream will automatically reconnect.

  15. It's only been a couple of months since activation for me but the biggest benefit from day one was not hearing the tinnitus which was truly depressing. I can also localize sound much better and don't feel that I'm caught off guard if I can't locate a sound. Although my left ear is still dominating I find that w/the CI I hear a much fuller sound. I'm hoping with time, practice, & patience to reach achieve what @Kylieis taking about especially in situations with background noise. I can't imagine my life without it!
