Hi, everyone, I'm Thom from Albuquerque, USA. I had a cochlear implant in my left ear several weeks ago, and it was turned on this week (Sonnet2/Rondo3). I'm excited about starting my journey to better hearing!

Hi, Mary Beth. Better than I expected at this point. I just figured out how to listen and read an audible book and I can already understand a lot of the words. Very exciting!

We need your help and feedback!

MED-EL’s Research and Development team is currently testing a new version of the AudioKey 2 app—and they are looking for MED-EL users to test it too! The test will be done remotely via MS Teams and will last approximately 90 minutes. It can be done in English or German. During the test, participants will be asked to perform eight different tasks in the app's demo mode. The participants will be guided through the whole test and no special previous knowledge is needed. Requirements: You should... Be a user of SONNET, SONNET 2, or RONDO 3 Have a laptop or deskto

Yes, my iPhone updated Sunday to 14.5.1. Do you think we have to wait for Apple or MedEl to figure this one out? Thanks Mary Beth.

    Connectivity problems with AudioStream

I had been using my audio stream beautifully through my iPhone 11 for a wonderful six weeks. I then attempted to pair with my iPad Air. A very loud buzzing sound entered in and after turning off the iPhone and the iPad the buzzing continued. I mean it was loud!! I worried that the processor had been corrupted so I switched to the regular battery cover and all was well. I then contacted MedEl and they replaced the audio stream battery cover. I received the replacement last Friday and immediately paired it with my iPhone successfully. I enjoyed it through the weekend but on Monday morning

COVID and our CI MAPping appts

Recently I went to my CI center (New York Eye & Ear) for a MAPping appointment. It was so great to have my programs adjusted and return to balanced hearing. It always surprises me how slight changes in my MAPs bring such huge improvements in sound quality. It has led me to conclude that for me there are no such things as slight MAP changes. Smile Has the pandemic delayed your MAPping appointments? Will you be able to schedule an appointment soon?

  11. Hi everyone, Not sure how to get started here. Mary Beth tagged me which created a notice for me to log in and see the message. I am using bilateral Sonnets and loving them to the max. Listening to music all the time as even as I type this. I am currently struggling with my AudioStream and I have not been able to use it all all. Apparently there are some issues with Apple's IOS and AudioKey2. I will be keeping an eye out for a resolution. For now, I stopped trying to use it. I would like to introduce myself also as the Co-CEO of InnoCaption which is a telephone captio

Connectivity problem with iPhone iOS 14.5 and 14.5.1

After a Zoom meeting with MEDEL where we tried everything under the sun to get it to pair w/my iPhone 11, they decided to send a replacement which is a good thing bec. now it is longer working w/my iPad as well. Once I get it on Thursday and hopefully it pairs to my iPhone, I will circle back -- fingers crossed!

@Jared Charney I am glad you are getting a replacement AudioStream. Consider pairing it to your phone through accessibility-hearing device directly. Others with only one AudioStream are reporting success that way. Just a suggestion.

    Using Omni mic setting

Hi @Mary Beth, I've now heard back from our product experts, here is what they say: In omni-mode, primarily the front mic does the listening. If Wind Noise Reduction is active, the back microphone is required as well. Hope that answers your question! Kind regards, Verena

Streaming iPhone with Roger Pen to my CI. Need help.

Hi Mary Beth, Thanks so much. I was trying to stream something other than a phone call. I probably knew that I couldn't do that at some point but it seems like unless I use my technology every day, I forget. I found my adaptor after I wrote about my problem so that's working fine and I can now stream things other than phone calls to my CI. I appreciate all your help. Shirley

Cochlear implant, is it right for me?

Hi Mary Beth, Thank you for replying to me and I appreciate your help. I'm based in the UK and they had referred me for a cochlear implant and didn't think the EAS was applicable for me due to my low frequency being on the borderline of a cochlear implant. So they referred me for the full cochlear implant. Hopefully I'll be able to get an appointment with audiology soon and be on the way to a CI! Lou

    Connectivity problems with AudioStream

@Jared Charney I have lost track of all the ways you have already tried but just in case this helps….. 1. On the iPad where AudioStream is connected, go to AudioKey2. Top left menu select conectivity…then AudioStream…then reset. 2. On both iPad and iPhone go to accessibility… hearing devices… and if AudioStream is listed select forget this device. Also check under BT that AudioStream is not there. If there, forget this device. 3. Turn off and then restart the phone. 4. Since you have one AudioStream on your phone go to accessibility…hearing devices and pull down

    Connectivity problems with AudioStream

@Jared Charney People who use only one AudioStream are reporting success by having their phone forget the devices and then pairing through the accessibility settings and NOT using AudioKey 2 app for configuration at all. (This does not work for bilateral AudioStream.) Start by deleting current Bluetooth pairing of AudioStream from phone's Bluetooth menu. 2. Select Settings 3. Scroll down & select Accessibility 4. Scroll down & select Hearing Devices 5. It should automatically search for devices. 6. Turn on your audio processor with AudioStream battery

    AudioStream update in AudioKey2

Hi @Mary Beth, there will be a push notification from AudioKey 2, which will inform users that a firmware update is available. You'll be able to then update it from that menu
