@Mary Beth I've been using the omni setting on my Sonnet except when I want to filter out background noise.  My audiologist thinks that omni is a good way to start.

Nice, thanks, I'm looking forward to Rondo2.  It may not replace my Sonnet, but I think it will be a great alternative.

Hi @dare_v. One type of failure found mostly in children is failure secondary to head trauma. The Maude database has entries with secondary to head trauma failures. A simple slip learning to walk resulting in head trauma should be reported to the audiologist whom can quickly check if there has been a change in the child's response to the processor. The child's pediatric audiologist is familiar with secondary to head trauma failures and can discuss with you.
    Best wishes for your child.

Thanks Mary Beth. Glad to see x-ray of electrode array is discussed. An x-ray can tell you if an electrode array is located in the cochlea but it can not tell you if an electrode is sticking out of the cochlea. For example into the scala vestibuli. For the latter you need a 3-D image.

Wow moment: Life is real good!
This is a huge wow moment when you realize you feel whole again.   For those who followed my journey know it started far from ideal.   No speech discrimination, a true daily struggle.  Now, 3.5 months post activation  (Of re- implantation! THANK YOU Dr. Pillsbury at UNC), I'm amazed at how great this implant work. Better than in my wildest dreams! Turned my life around completely.  I'm able to travel again around the world,  not worrying about not managing situations.   Traveling has been great because it kept my senses alert, truly intensified my hearing experience.
    Recent wow moments:
Talking to at least one stranger a day,  without worry
Hearing and understanding speech and music and everyting else without meaning to or even directing to it
Calling the property manager on the phone and getting what is said
Yesterday at my parents house,  answering the phone at my own free will and taking a recorded message and also following instructions for confirming appointment,  all sounds crystal clear
Driving and listening to radio station.  Great music! And I recognize songs in both languages! I understand lyrics of songs I've never heard before even tho the radio reception is crappy!  Understanding right away which language is on although they go back and forth quite a bit!
Hearing a conversation upstairs,  and clearly.  Everyting they said plus details such as numbers mentioned (Of course I verified I heard the number right !)
    Birds
Couple of weeks ago,  standing in the back yard and hearing a man (neighbour) talk on the other side of the fence.  It was man voice and I could understand everything he said without even seeing who it was
My nephew's little voice and I can get it all!
I hope I get to add more to this thread.

Definitely. The bandage was too tight. But left it on till the morning after. Felling pretty good. Still having minimal pain so using just generic brand “ Tylenol” otherwiseim goood. Still feeling tired here and there so naps are happening regularly!

hadron reacted to Mary Featherston in Voucher
Mary Beth:  I would guess that had to do with manufacturing capacity.  I work in a medical device manufacturing facility and it's a balance between being able to fulfill customer requirements and having workers run out of work when the increased demand ends.  You can't staff your plant for the most you could possibly want to manufacture or you'd be laying people off all the time in between.  Sounds like Med-El managed it fairly well.  After all, the people with the vouchers already had a processor.
I'll be participating in PlusRondo and am okay if it takes a little while.  (Note to Med-El moderators:  that's not the same thing as wanting to be at the end of the line)  :-)
