@Mr-LJ I miss the on/off button as well but I use a a mute program in slot 4. I have that slot turned all the way down. I didn’t use to carry the remote with me all the time but now I have gotten use to it, I am a person who doesn’t like a lot of stuff in my pockets but the fine tuner remote is slim enough that I don’t mind it.
    Good luck.

Percy got a reaction from Mary Beth in Residual hearing
    @JohnL, @Mary Beth
it has been almost 10 years since I have been implanted in my left ear, I can’t remember exactly what sounds I was hearing upon activation. I do know that I was very disappointed with what I was hearing (or not hearing) everything sounded like a big noise but as time went on I started to distinguish between syllables in words and then speech and then I could hear my name over a cubicle wall
For what it is worth my left ear (implanted ear) does much better than my right ear (hearing aid) and I am scheduled to be implanted on June 7 for my right ears because I see just how much I am missing on my right side, hang in there @JohnL it does get better

I am officially scheduled for my second implant in June.
I am a little nervous but I know with Gods help I will be fine.
Thanks to everyone who provided feedback on their second CI.

Thank you to everyone for your responses they are most helpful and encouraging.
@Jane that is amazing that you still have your residual hearing even after the implant and can still hear water running.. etc.
@Mary Beth yes, I am considering getting my right ear implanted @Nikki this will also be my ‘better’ ear. I find that I do hear more with the implant than with the hearing aid, it’s just hard to let go.
    Thanks again EVERYONE!

Percy got a reaction from Mary Beth in Failing Battery Pack Cover
I have been having issues with bad battery covers as well but the issue I am having is that the battery cover does not seal properly to keep out moisture. I have received a total of 4 battery covers from medel, the first 2 did not seal as they should and the second 2 were even worse. Medel also sent me a new processor and battery pack to try as well but still got the same results. This issue reduces the water resistance too. Maybe there is an issue with the manufacturing process?

Right now I am still using Omni (FS2) as my everyday. I had my directional program at always and just recently had it switched to 55dba, I am going to try that out. I also had the overall volume turned up on the natural program. In slot 4 I had my Audi put in Omni again but with FS4.  All other programs are FS4 as well except for my everyday Omni.
I think I like the sound of FS2 better, the FS4 tends to have a little more low end stimulation so that it no longer sounds natural.
Wind block is active on the directional and natural programs but I can’t really say it makes much difference if it is on or off especially while in the directional program.
The omni program is much better at wind noise.

I just received word that the med-el rep will be giving training to my audi on June 5 for the new features on the Sonnet, my audi made my appt for that day to get my 'new' features activated.  Yay!  Hope this works.

    Mike,
    Welcome to the forum!
I understand yours concerns, I too had these questions when pursuing my implant.  I work in a particle accelerator and I am around large motors, compressors, klystrons, and magnets.  I work in places where they have warning signs for people with pace makers.  I was worried about the magnet of my implant being affected.
Aside from the motors, compressors.....etc being extremely loud (in which case I turn my processor way way down, almost off), I do not have any issues whatsoever.
There has been times when areas of my job had a 5 Tesla magnet energized for a brief period in which case I stayed away, I didn't want to take any chances.
    Hope this helps,
    Percy
