  1. So I decided to just get my right ear implanted and get a HA for my left.
  2. I just feel bad for people who had their choice taken from them.
  3. I do not have children. But I asked my mom is I was born deaf would she get me a CI. She told me no and that I would go to a deaf school that uses ASL and she would have to learn my language and be in my life not the other way around. I just wonder why do parents just to a CI when the have a deaf child and not put them in their culture of being deaf and a school of their own. I'm not trying to be rude but is it fear, or laziness that you don't want or have time to learn ASL or that you think the deaf school doesn't have the same chances at the hearing schools. I have friends that are deaf an

  5. I just told someone on FB about this place and I am definitely planning on going there.
  6. I just watched the Through Deaf Eyes and it was a great documentary. Thanks
  7. I would only take my CI off at night or if I have a headache. But I don't want my deaf friends to think anything will change.
  8. Yes most definitely. I sign and I'm going to school to be an interpreter but I don't was the CI to take me away from m deaf friends. I will still be deaf and being an interpreter will be my career but I still want to be in the deaf community for being deaf not an interpreter.
  9. Does anyone here use ASL and is apart of the deaf and hearing world?
  10. It took me 2 years to decide. I think that I'm more scared not to try than trying and it failing. I haven't talked to too many people that have had it but all the ones I have spoken with say they are very happy with it even going bilateral all at once.
  11. Which part of Ga are you from. I am from Cobb county but I live in Indianapolis for the mean time.
  12. Yes probably not the best season to go in but I have put it off long enough
  13. I'm visiting Montreal and Toronto in January
  14. I think that will be my biggest problem because I have gotten so use to not really talk to people I don't live with like my mom and step dad or my close family cause I'm use to them and they are use to me so it's not much of a problem to communicate but when I'm around new people or groups I'm lost and I generally just sit back.
  15. I looked at the site and I think I will order a few. Are they easy to take off once you put them on?
