Samba has wireless conectivity options so, if you want, you will be able to connect it over the streamer.
Possible problem here can be that people could think you are talking with yourself

    Hi, Mitchell,
    Pretty good damn little thing

Joking a bit, but not when we're talking about the impact it made personally in my life. I use mine since it came out and I reminded almost immediately the improvement regarding its technical abilities.
I was even more astonished when I heard for the first time the music streamed over miniTek streamer....
What kind of hearing loss do you have?

Yes the clinic finder is good.
University of Miami has a great CI program.
Drs. Angeli, Eshragi and Telischi are highly regarded CI surgeons.
Go to the link below to learn about the program. Click on Meet the faculty to see the surgeons.

I also would be very cautious about who and where. But you do whatever you need to do to be comfortable with your decision. You could look at the clinic finder on the Med el website. It maybe a place to start. Check drs ratings and go from there. Everyone has unique anatomy as well so a well versed surgeon is always best.

Hi Jess & welcome to our website. I'm quite new to having an implant - still learning. I've worn HA over 30 years, and at this time I'm viewing my (single) implant as a hedge against deafness.
Having had several hospital visits recently, I've experienced negative understanding about hearing loss. You can be a great influence as you begin your career: by influence I mean spreading your understanding about how to deal with us folks. The numbers of people experiencing war, along with those suffering from various forms of dementia need the understanding that you already have.
Here's to your successful entry into your medical career.

Hi there, my name is Jess I was born with severe hearing loss and I recieved my left implant before the age of 2. I recieved my second implant at the age of 11 and can remeber the process so I am happy to answer any questions.
I am now 19 with 2 nucleus 6 implants and I am living away from home at University training to be a nurse. I have never signed, my parents tried to teach me but I chose to speak and live in the hearing world. I did my level 1 BSL 1 year ago but I have forgotten it already as it is never used.
I have 100% hearing loss and never imagined Id be able to be a nurse but I am proving all of my doubters wrong, if  I can do it any one can do it!

    Hi Kay,
Thank you for reaching out to the HearPeers community. I'm really sorry to hear about the physical pain you are experiencing right now. For many recipients, the common symptoms of pain settle down within a week or so after surgery. However each person is different, and we are unable to provide medical advice. I strongly recommend to stay in contact your medical specialist about how you are feeling as they will be able to provide you with specific medical advice along the way. Your MED-EL Representative can also offer further support - if you can send me through your contact details I will get them to get in touch with you to help. Wishing you all the best and thinking of you on your journey!
    Kind regards,
    Leigh

Well, try to rest as much as you can... Pain will go away, the vestibular apparatus will calm down...
Try not to irritate your jaw with too solid food - allow yourself plenty of rest. Of course, dizziness is a major cause of feeling nauseous.

I got my 2nd implant on Monday. My right implant went so good, I thought why not.  well this one is no picnic. I am wondering if someone can give me some guidelines? I have quite a bit of pain in my jaw, and I get headaches and brief stabs of ear ache type pain. I  am also very dizzy, using a cane. I think the dizziness is causing a bit of nausea. My dressing was on very tight and the headaches are less since it came off yesterday, now it's just by my temple . Can anyone give me a point to shoot for as to when this will get better? I'm pretty sure I got spoiled by the first one. That was a piece of cake ?I hope I didn't make a big mistake. Thanks for being here.

    Hi Kimmay,
I understand you - I have approximately 4 hours of driving up to a place where is my clinical engineer.
Yeah - any of the aforementioned battery brand works well and confidently. Even Duracell 625 - I have tested them also although they are not an implant type of battery which only means that they should be more potent or the distribution of power should be more uniform during its use.
I like Power-One both because of their reliability but also a possibility of buying it. I buy mine on E-Bay, for instance.

I live in Sudbury Ontario which is six hours away from London Ontario Cananda, which is where my audiologist is located and also where I got the operation done. I can’t pop in and see her whenever I like but I go to London every six months for a check up (I have cholesteatoma and have to have the skin removed from my ears often) and usually see her at the same time for a hearing test or for something with my Samba. Power One Implant batteries 675 are the ones I am supposed to be using but have to buy them off the internet and I find it convient to just buy Durecell 675 batteries at a pharmacy store or Walmart. My audiologist is sending me batteries and if they don’t work then I am meeting with a Med-El rep again (I’ve met one of them once before). This is the third processor I have so somethings going on. I’m hoping it’s the batteries. I love my Samba and the beautiful sound it offers me. Thank you kindly for your help and input ladies, I appreciate it.?

Try to find Power One, Duracell or Rayovac - implant type.
I guess you will find it faster in a hearing aid shop or at your local audiologist. Try also order from Amazon or E-Bay - they have good deals!
Also, before put it working, tape off their sticker and leave a battery on the air for 5 minutes in total and then put it in the compartment of your BB.

    Huh!      interesting....
I am regular user of Power One and Rayovac mentioned above and I have never experienced something like that....
I might experience that few batteries are not as strong as some other... but, then I change them and - everything is well then...

You know, I never thought of that!!! I’m using batteries that I buy at a drug store but they aren’t made for medical equipment. I should be using the batteries the audiologist prescribed!!! THANK YOU MARY BETH! I’m going to order new batteries tomorrow !
I will keep you posted and again thank you! Hoping this works.
