    @Julesrdh

There are text based supports for the hearing impaired at movie theaters.
Some movie theaters have individual receivers (many times infra red receivers) for hearing impaired customers.  Some of those receivers allow you to plug in a neckloop or headset.  Technically, you could plug in a Roger Pen.  Whether this will sound good, remains to be seen.

Yes we can get ear infections.  Maybe your doctor has an on call number?

When I was in high school, on the basketball team, we all got green sneakers for our school color.  It was the mid-70s and the most popular shoes then were Adidas running shoes, so most of us had those.  Turns out there's a reason why basketball shoes look different:  lateral strength.  One girl planted her foot to pass the ball and her foot went right through the side of her running shoe.
Possibly there are better manufacturing methods for shoes now!  I'm glad you found a headband that works.  I have just been using a folded scarf since I'm mostly getting my exercise on a treadmill on my three-season porch.

Found at sports store, Models, a headband. It ties in back so easy to adjust. It was made by Nike. It worked perfect. I tried to download pic but having a problem

Lol pets are amazing! I was walking my dog the other day and I notice I could hear her sniffing. I could only hear it if it was right next to me before. But as she walking and sniffing it was so amazing!

Another Wow on Friday:  I have been trying to use my CI only and not wear the hearing aid.  When I'm with people one on one I can, sometimes but in large meetings it's just not possible.  But on Friday I had a meeting with two other people, and left the hearing aid off, and was fine.
They didn't sound normal, but I could understand.  It was a great little bit of progress.

    Hi @Valentin
I read a Med-El article earlier this week which recommended that if we are travelling with a spare processor to put it in a fabric bag so that when it goes through the scanner for carry on luggage there will be no static and nothing will be damaged.

This is a great news. And could the processor lose the configuration depending the "power"  of the arc? I read this in a  website some months ago.
I supposed that backpack passed through x-ray scanner, but these have no problems.
About the trip, perhaps in Christmas

    Hi @Valentin
I have flown many times with my CIs without any issues.  No one has ever needed to see the patient identification card.  I have never had a problem with the scanners.  I keep my processors on (in M) and have never heard any beeps nor buzzing.

I keep ALL of my CI items I my backpack, which is with me at all times.

    Are you planninga fun trip?

    Hi there,
Some days ago I read about an article where the author talk about some tips during travel with CI. It called attention for me the issue related with airports and CI, (5º pparagraph).
I had understood that CI musn't pass under body arc scanner and processor must to be in hand bag, however this article explain it something different and I think he have right (specially related to X-ray and processor mic damage. What do you think about it?

Today I used the sports headband. Just put it over top of the processor not in the pocket. It was very snug. I use Sonnet by the way.

I have 3 WOW moments. The first was about a month after activation. Because I was never completely deaf I had no idea what I was missing! I remember my husband and I going for a walk on the beach which we had done frequently, but this day the sounds of birds overwhelmed me! I had no idea what I had been missing and that they were so loud. Amazing!!
My next 2 moments were being in the delivery room when my Grands were born! Babies cry loud when they enter this world! What a sound!! And today they both call their Gammy’s name over and over! My heart continues to be overwhelmed in a very good way!

This will most definitely be my favorite topic to follow!  I just LOVE WOW moments.  I can’t wait to read everyone’s WOW moments.

Here are some of my favorite WOW moments with my CIs.

-I heard my grand nephew hiccup on FaceTime when he was only one month old.
-I identified songs playing on the radio while driving to work.  My private Name That Tune game.  Smile.
-I conversed with family members from different rooms in the house and even from upstairs to the living room.
-I heard the waves in the ocean while boogie boarding.
-A flock of geese flew overhead and I heard individual geese honks!  Crazy wild!
    -Hearing my cats purr.
-Playing the piano again after decades of being unable to do so.
-Hearing my family whisper, actually whisper, into my processors.

So many WOW moments.  Life changing.
