All done and back at home! No dressing, just a cool head of staples. Gonna look awesome at work next week! I feel pretty good - bit dizzy and bit achy and my ear is numb, but overall not too bad. Just on panadol, no need for the hard stuff. Now relaxing on the couch watching Netflix 😁

The audi would have tested each electrode and if you heard when she tested each then they are all working.
I was disappointed at my activation cos when people spoke the sounds were like the Twilight Zone or something from outer space. The following day when I was in the dining area of the hotel and there was a lot of chatter I thought I was gonna lose my mind cos all I could hear were beeps, whistles, and other strange sounds. But it got better.
The more you wear the processor the quicker your brain will adjust in my opinion. Please don't get down about this. The best is yet to come.

Cool @Mary Featherston!  Music opened up gradually to me too.  It is so wonderful.  I am glad you are experiencing better and better music in your journey too.

I had my interview yesterday.  Spent an hour walking around the plant with the hiring manager - this is a noisy plant, it's where they make all the Scotch tape and masking tape (among other things).  But I could hear Bob throughout!  I put my CIs on adaptive and turned down sensitivity a bit and it worked really well.  After that we had another hour in a conference room with Bob and two other guys and that went really well too.  AND we went to lunch at a noisy restaurant and I even heard them then.
I won't find out whether I got the job till a week from Monday, but the interview already made me really happy from the standpoint of my CIs' performance.

For me I believe it was Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley. I was driving home from work and turned on the radio, couldn't make out any song until that started playing! That was the first month of activation I think.

After 4 weeks I am going to listen to Susan Boyle singing wild horses at least twice a day until the 'squelch ' goes away. Strange most voices are squelchy but Joan Sutherland, Kathleen battle are almost perfect.
Music is going to be tough.

I do fine in window seats with my processors on even on long flights.  So everyone’s experience with that may be unique.

Huh.  I wouldn't have though of that.  We used to always try to get one of the rows with just two seats, so it's a window and an aisle, and I always sat in the window seat.  This time we're in the middle (the plane's seat layout is three-three-three and we're in the middle which means no windows).  I was feeling kind of whiny about it -  mean, I booked the flights six months in advance and all we could get is middle seats in row 56?  But maybe not so much now.

I have flown many times with my implants.  I keep my processors on my head and turned on and go through the regular TSA process.  I have never had any problems nor heard any unpleasant sounds.  I always travel with backup processors and supplies in the travel cases that Med-El included in the kits.  I place those travel cases in my backpack and it goes through the carryon luggage scanner.  Like @Jewel, I keep everything related to my CIs in my backpack so it is always close by.
Have a great trip @Mary Featherston.

    @MrVe9as
Well I'm 6 months post activation and I listen to music in my car every single day. I love it! I think I started listening to music once again a few weeks after activation, couldn't make out much, but gradually the tunes started to sound natural. Today I am wearing my Sonnet and put it in omni and noticed that I'm able to make out more of the lyrics than I was previously. I have good results with the Rondo2 as well.
I had forgotten how much I enjoyed music years ago but now thanks to my CI and processors I love music once again!
Actually listening to music in my car is the only type of rehab I have been doing recently. This kind of rehab is fun 😊!

I have been sent 4 audiology appointments! Nice to know ahead of time. The schedule is this:
    surgery on 12th April
activation on 1st May (nearly 3 weeks post surgery)
Further 3 audiology sessions, weekly from activation.
    Now it's getting very exciting!!!

Um, no.  It's farther from home, BUT - we are looking to move when I retire (in about 5 years or so) and if I get the job in Hutch we'll move earlier.  In fact possibly this year.  Tomorrow we're going to look at a house that's in the same town as the plant where I'm applying.  Well, it's just outside of town - isolated and on a lake.  The property actually includes a small island in the lake.  So we'll see.  It would be serendipitous if we bought the house and I get the job.

    Hi @MrVe9as
I am not sure about the cap, but I can answer the other questions. Rondo2 is not Bluetooth. However you can connect it to another device, eg Artone 3 Max which is able to connect to Bluetooth devices and then stream to the Rondo2 using telecoil.
I wore the Rondo2 to work today and made a phone call. I simply hold the phone up to the Rondo2 and keep moving the phone until I hear it well from the Rondo 2. I am able to hear well that way. I never use anything additional when using the phone.
You have made great choices! I have both the Rondo2 and the Sonnet and I love both! Sonnet is better in noise.
