Thanks @Mary Beth I've been known to write then and again in various capacities...(an oldie, but I'm particularly proud of this since it's one of the few things I've publicly written. Seems most of the images have long since gone to the digital by and by...)

    Btw, @phobos512,
We actually use the Red Lobster box mix for those biscuits 😅
I think you can buy it at Walmart
But, if you need something a little more grab-n'-go, I wouldn't mind sending you any 😊

Great start.  The tinnitus may quiet.  Mine did.  I hope you are as fortunate.

    Thank you @phobos512!

Maybe Med-El will change the default to the FineTuner Echo soon since both Sonnet 2 and Rondo 3 ship with the FineTuner Echo.  Rondo 3 just released in the US so maybe that setting will change.

    Great explanation and graphics!

Real quick update, this has been a crazy busy day. I was activated today on my left. So far so good. As with my right my audi is pumping the power for me more than one would typically expect. It's a bit disorienting as now I've got the higher pitched sound in my left ear and the more normal sounding sound in my right. It really puts into stark contrast just how far my right ear has come in these few short months. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like the left at this time is having the same benefit to my tinnitus as the right did, so that's a little bit of a bummer. I'm hopeful that specifically will change over time. We shall see...

All, during this chat one of our members expressed an issue they were having with their new Sonnets and Fine Tuner Echo. I don't remember who specifically that was  Did that get resolved since? I experienced the same during my 2nd processor fitting today and know how to resolve it if not.

@tmscarlett10 I'd also like to take some in person course. Gallaudet offers, or would in a normal year, an immersive adult ASL "camp" in the summer time. Since I'm here in the metro it'd be awesome to participate in that someday.

@Mary Beth Things are fine. I'm a little bummed I missed Sunday. I was sitting on the couch Sunday morning and I felt like I was being lazy so I went out to wash our Miata, which I've never done myself. It took a while.
Externally I'm all healed up though to be fair I'm still even at this point a little swollen. My glasses are still uncomfortable, but this isn't too much a surprise (and I wear my contacts during the day anyway). Since I finished with the Bacitracin I've been wearing my hearing aid again. It gives me a little bit of balance but it's much quieter now. I'm honestly not sure if it helps me hear on the phone or not as everything through it is echo-y/garbled even more now than before (no surprise of course).
Activation Friday morning. And then after that our little one will be showing up sometime shortly thereafter. Nursery is all ready, all the little clothes are washed, learning mobile's hung up, yadda yadda yadda. I'm a little petrified but I'm also really excited to meet the little dude. We took this silly picture the other day after I hung up the mobile. The dots are stickers. They're all over the room. There's also Russian (Cyrillic) alphabet stickers of various critters; there'll be similar with the English (Latin) alphabet. I found an activity rug on Amazon that has the alphabet and numbers along with the ASL for each, was thinking about getting that. No reason he can't be trilingual.

@tmscarlett10 @Megan L. I concur with Lifeprint; Mr. Vicars' YouTube channels put out content multiple times a week if not daily ranging from beginner to fairly advanced concepts. I also watch ASL Meredith and Signed with Heart. But I'm definitely newer to this than anyone in this thread thus far so take that for what you will.

Does anybody on here sign? Did you start learning because of your hearing loss?
I have been learning online - solo - for a while.
I first heard about ASL when I was in middle school, and we learned the alphabet.
Since then, I wanted to learn more, but never got to it until maybe a year or two ago. Without anybody to practice with, I get in and out of it, so it's taking me a while lol.
I'm not a 'beginner' beginner, but still a beginner, a little closer to intermediate. I know a decent amount of vocab, I can fingerspell, I know most of my numbers, and I understand some about the grammar and word order; but I need more practice with that. And I want to learn how to sign in different tenses such as commands vs statements, etc.
I rely mostly on Lifeprint with Bill Vicars (love him!); I also like ASL Rochelle; and I get a new vocab word sent to my email daily from SignSchool.
Does anybody have any other resources that they use?
I don't live near a Deaf community, or anywhere that might have courses.

Google's Pixel devices can now generate captions for media and phone/video calls. It can theoretically caption any sound on the device, but app developers can opt out. It's called Live Caption; it's different from Live Transcribe, which uses cloud computing. Live Caption does not, it's all on the device.

@tmscarlett10 We have an All-Clad wafflemaker that my parents gifted us last Christmas. I swear I put the one with the removable plates so they can go in the dishwasher but alas, we got the one without. It's not too big a deal though. I will say with the recipe I posted our wafflemaker has to be cranked to 6/7 on the heat dial. They come out perfect this way. I was very conservative initially with the heat but found the only way to get the crisp exterior was to crank it. If you prefer a softer exterior then that could be fine though.
@Mary Beth I will check out that recipe. Thanks!
Ok, I checked it out. Probably will have to try some. Dunno about that coffee business though. Only espresso in our house. Butit'sbeensinceJanuarythatI'vehadanysoIbetanylittlebitwillmakemetalkreallyfastandbounceoffthewallshahahahahahahahahaha
