HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted August 12, 2022 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted August 12, 2022 I am experiencing a lot of disconnections with AudioStream and my iPhone 12 mini running iOS 15.5 after the firmware update. It has disconnected 6 times already today. The “fix” is restarting each AudioStream by pulling the cover down and then pushing it back up. Are you still experiencing frequent disconnections with iPhones after the firmware update too? Any suggestions? @Jullannie @KittKatz @Viola DeVinney @karenRS @DeafChef @SKOM @John F @Ralph34
SKOM
Sorry to hear that Marybeth first of all has there been a recent firmware update in audio stream since January I was not aware? yes I do have experienced some occasional disconnections can be while using the iPad and or phone running the latest software and yes just opening and closing the audio stream solves the issue Dianna and Mary Beth 1
Viola DeVinney
Yes…having the same issue and I remove it the same way you have…a bit frustrating! I sometimes takes more than one attempt. Dianna and Mary Beth 1
KittKatz
I was having issues too though I had not considered the iOS version. I will have to try them again since I upgraded to 15.6 today. Mary Beth and Dianna

karenRS
I’ve updated to 15.6 with my iPhone 12. I had occasional problems with 15.5 when it first connected in the day but I resolved it by switching Bluetooth off and on again. Haven’t really noticed it with 15.6 Dianna and Mary Beth
HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted August 12, 2022 Author HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted August 12, 2022 @SKOM no this is the first time I am trying AudioStreams since that firmware update. When I tried them earlier it was prior to the firmware update.
HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted August 12, 2022 Author HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted August 12, 2022 I am concerned about the wear on the Sonnets and the AudioStreams themselves with this many restarts in a day. Dianna
karenRS
Yes , I’ve cracked a couple of audiostreams by continually opening and closing them. , but switching Bluetooth off and on seems to work so I’m hoping that’s a bit safer Dianna, Mary Beth and Viola DeVinney
HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted August 12, 2022 Author HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted August 12, 2022 @karenRS switching BT off and on is not working for me today. It had in the past but no luck at all with the AudioStreams reconnecting today by switching BT off and back on. How long do you leave it off before turning it back on? How long does it take for your AudioStream to reconnect after you turn your BT back on? I appreciate the help. Dianna
Jullannie
Yes Mary Beth, I am having issues that amount to having to pull down the battery cover every single time I want to stream. Unfortunately this means I cannot answer my cell phone. I have to say something like "hold on, I've got to press a couple of buttons and then I can hear you". I long for the several months when the stream was always there and ready when needed. I look forward to getting it back like that. I haven't tried turning bluetooth on and off but I'm wondering if turning off the processor with the remote or audio key 2 might do it. Will report back. HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted August 12, 2022 Author HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted August 12, 2022 Thank you @Jullannie for testing out ways that may work. It is just not reliable at the moment for me. I want it to be. Dianna
Viola DeVinney
I still have disconnect issues with 15.6 and removing and replacing the cover appears to be the only thing that works. it didn’t occur to me that removing the battery cover could lead to damage…ugh. I guess I could try disconnecting Bluetooth and reconnecting. I wish a Med-El technician would enter the discussion. Jullannie
No luck using AudioKey. I thought using the monitoring mode function turned the processor off but I think it merely turns off the microphone. karenRS
I turn Bluetooth back on straight away and it seems to connect straight away. I notice the connection is not always so good at work. Sometimes if I stand in a different spot in my work place it works much better Mary Beth
HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted August 12, 2022 Author HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted August 12, 2022 @karenRS I am so baffled as to why the BT toggle is not working. I am at home. There were no other BT tech running in the entire room. And my Artone BT neckloop works flawlessly at home. I am at a loss.
Ralph34
Mary Beth This sounds like some other BT device keeps grabbing your connection. You say there is no other device near by.You could go to a park or somewhere away from other devices to see if it still happens. My connection still seem solid but I don’t know what version of AudioStream I am running. Mary Beth
karenRS
Maybe the audiostream itself is at fault. Mary Beth
HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted August 12, 2022 Author HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted August 12, 2022 I will make this a priority next week and if I figure out a work around for a more stable connection, I will post here.

John F
Seems fine with iPadOS 15.whatever the latest is while streaming different services. I’m running iOS 16 on phone and haven’t seen the issue described except last release and prior, there were BT issues but that was all around affecting everything and seem fixed now. I’m not certain I’ve actually gotten a firmware update since I haven’t needed to open the app for a bit. I’ll double check tonight or tomorrow. HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted August 13, 2022 Author HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted August 13, 2022 Interestingly the accessibility, hearing devices display on the phone is no longer accurate about whether both AudioStreams are actually connected. Sometimes if one of the two is connected, the phone displays connected L+R on the first screen BUT the next screen is accurate and if a battery level does not appear next to an AudioStream, it is not connected and restarting that side is needed again.
