Bdayboom
Hi I'm writing this on behalf of my partner she has had an implant now for over a year and has always struggled after a period of time she gets a build of tinnitus that then leads to dizziness she describes it as being drunk all spaced out she's exhausted by it. She then takes off the implant and after several more days things settled down again. But it then repeates itself. She's gone to specialist and they don't seem to be able to help. She's also gone to a neurosurgeon and is being referred to get a ct scan. Has anyone else suffered she feels so alone and says she just wants to be normal.... I just want to help her somehow.... I'd appreciate any thoughts input.... Thank you in advance Ben Quote Link to comment https://forum.hearpeers.com/topic/1365-help-please-can-someone-help/ Share on other sites
HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted September 30, 2016 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted September 30, 2016 Hi Ben, I'm so sorry your partner is experiencing so much difficulty. I wish her the best and hope the scan and neurosurgeon can figure out what is causing her symptoms. Diguirses
I'm sorry for your partner. I am also planning to wear wireless hearing aids and also booked an appointment with my hearing aid specialist in Bowmanville. Which type of hearing implant does your partner use? I think it is better to wear hearing aid rather than using an implant. HearPeers Heroes Kara of Canada Posted October 14, 2016 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted October 14, 2016 Most of us that have implants have not other choice. It's that or no hearing. HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted October 14, 2016 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted October 14, 2016 Hearing aids are helpful for many people. For people whom hearing aids can not help, cochlear implants may be best. We have already had members who experienced dizziness or headache because of hearing map which didn't suit well to the implantee. I'm sorry to hear she is going through a tough time at the moment. I strongly recommend speaking with your local MED-EL Representative who may be able to offer some support. I have sent you their contact details in a private message. Kind regards, Leigh Quote Link to comment https://forum.hearpeers.com/topic/1365-help-please-can-someone-help/#findComment-13281 Share on other sites
