Deb
Hi, I am hoping to connect with an adult with a Cochlear Implant for Single Sided Deafness. I have had the required testing and have been declared an ideal candidate however I am struggling to locate an implant centre that performs this type of implant. Thank you for any direction. HearPeers Heroes Valentin Posted October 24, 2016 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted October 24, 2016 I'm not work in MED EL. I'm a forum user who have a MED EL CI, but I believe this could help you. - Go to Canada MED EL website here: http://www.medel.com/ca/ - Scroll down and find "Find a Clinic" button. You will have a map of clinic on Canada. Greetings

Ms_D
Hi. I have cochlear implant in both ears. My first ear I had implanted was my right ear. I was born deaf in that ear, and the cochlear implant is a blessing!
HearPeers Heroes Adam Posted January 26, 2017 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted January 26, 2017 Deb, did you have any luck finding a clinic in Canada? I hope all is well.
Ms_D
Hi. My first implant was done on my deaf ear. My local ear, nose, throat specialist referred me to my surgeon office - it was a drive, but well worth it. I hope you find a clinic. kblgy
Hi Deb, like Mary Beth said, your best bet may be a clinical trial. that is how I am being implanted and my good ear is normal hearing. I am having surgery on May 5th and can't wait. I am also in the usa just incase you are wondering so try to locate a trial in Canada.
