Hi Everyone, first time posting here. I have had bilateral bte hearing aids for the last 10 years with severe to profound hearing loss.  I had cochlear implant surgery performed on my right ear this week. Activation April 26th, Ontario, Canada. Will be getting a Sonnet Audio Processor. Very interested in reading other's experiences, helpful tips appreciated.

Dawn, congratulations!!

Now the waiting and anticipation has begun. ?

Pits a pretty wild ride. Each persons journey is just a little different. It just depends on how our brains decide to deal with the new information it is receiving. Work hard and remember the 3 p's, practice, patience and perseverance!

All of us here are at different stages in their hearing journey. Feel free to ask as many questions as you can and be sure to check out the other categories here as there are a lot of great informative posts.

Hello Dawn and welcome to the bionic bunch! I have one implant and live in Ontario as well. I had my surgery at Sunnybrook in Toronto. I hope you are doing well. The next phase after activation is the most crucial. Make to take time everyday to do aural rehab. Your audiologist will give you tips on where to start. Also check out the forum on aural rehab there are plenty of tips there as well. Best of luck!!
