WE3LSC
I want to let all of you in the USA know the AudioStream adapter in the USA is now available for the Rondo 3, $320. I am a recently activated at the end of December 2023 and still going through programming, and I don’t think that it’s fair that new recipients like myself have to pay for it at all, and definitely NOT full price for the audio stream adapter, which is included in new backpack kits, I don’t even mind paying a 50% discount, because I am still under warranty my processor is still basically brand new. because The audiolink that came in the backpack kit for the Rondo 3 is HORRIBLE, barely works the way I was lead to believe it would, and it definitely has no distance, 5 feet if I’m lucky, and then everything in my Processor/head starts getting very Staticy because I don’t always remember to carry it around the house with me, and it’s also always been very hard to understand anything using the audiolink, I can’t even use the phone, watch tv or anything with it. So that’s why I say new recipients like myself should get it at no cost, or at least at a 50% discount. John F
So, there are folks who got a new processor right before the AudioStream for the Sonnets became standards in the backpack and/or was not yet released. When I got my first processor, the AudioStream covers for Sonnet were the extra item one had a choice of, while my second they were part of the kit. It can be frustrating when new devices/tech is released right after receiving your current device. Your kit should’ve include an AudioStream cover for the Sonnet (if your clinic/hospital does two processor dealio for new implants). I got nothing for the AudioLink since it never worked well and I couldn’t be bothered after a few replacements of it. There is a forum for it with a lot of suggestions, but know that you’re not alone in not being a fan of it.
