Kilgary
So I noticed the guy who worked with Med-el to showcase the Rondo 3 AudioStream plug on YouTube also has a video on a Rondo 3 cover that lets you connect a specific Sony earbud on it. It’s made for Rondo 3 users with SSD who want to listen in stereo. I happen to be a Rondo 3 user with SSD but this product isn’t available in the US web store. How can I buy it? https://shop.de.medel.com/produkte/rondo-3/in-verbindung-bleiben/2627/rondo-3-earbud-connector
Members Tim
@Kilgary Very interesting find! Surprised that you haven't gotten more responses. Unfortunate that it is just for one particular brand/model of earbuds. In addition to stereo, it suddenly gives the ability to fully have phone calls using the Sony's earbud microphones. Connectivity to more devices like a laptop. Likely more robust BT connections and better audio codecs. I seem to remember seeing some 3D printing projects for holding earbuds but not sure if any have been done for the R3. Personally, I feel a little squeamish about earbuds or anything going in my good ear other than in an Audi's office after losing hearing in one ear, that is part of why I really like the big over the ear headphones. Also it then means buying that very specific earbud model with non-replaceable batteries. Overall, I don't think that I would get it or use it unless I already had those earbud but I will be interested in following the conversation to see what others think about it. I found refurbished earbuds on Amazon for $60. So, it would be affordable if this cover is available for sale in the US.
