PamelaG
Hi, My son wears sonnet and rondo depending on his needs. The waterwear covers have that little hole where we used to be able to put the attachment wire with the clothes clip and make a knot by looping the clip in on itself thru there. Now with the silicone type attachment clip, I don't see how that works with waterwear ( because can't just clip it under the cover and no way to loop it in the hole.) What kind of wire and clips can he use with the water covers, or other way to secure a rondo or a sonnet while using waterwear? Thank you! HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted June 26 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted June 26 @PamelaG I put my Rondos in waterwear covers and then put them in eargear covers with tether and clip. Works great. Which Rondo? 1, 2 or 3? I can give you a link.
PamelaG
Thanks! I saw you mention that in an older post too. He has a rondo 2. Was wondering too if medel makes anything that works by using that hole in the waterwear? Curious why it's there otherwise? Maybe it's left over from the older clips... It's for my teenage son and he probably will not be happy to put another thing on his processor but he goes to pools etc in the summer and we can't be losing these! So I may try the eargear if nothing else. The other side he only has sonnets so I've got to find a solution for there too!
HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted June 26 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted June 26 @PamelaG https://www.gearforears.com/products/ear-gear-rondo-m1-mono/58055 Rondos sink like rocks when knocked off so I have been using these covers in pools, lakes, oceans, etc for years. I have them in black. I clip the cord to my rash shirt. I only use my Rondos in waterwear so I do not have a suggestion for the Sonnet waterwear. Sorry. PamelaG
Thank you for the link! What is it made out of- how does the sound still go through the fabric to the mic?
HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted June 26 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted June 26 @PamelaG Everything sounds great and I do not even need to increase the volume settings. I have been using this set up since waterwear was released in 2015. Entire beach weeks of hearing just fine. It kind of reminds me of speaker material. I also wear a nammucap when in the ocean and even then everything sounds great.

This is my first summer with using Rondo 3 and water wear. This is going to sound really strange, but I was at a Viking Festival in Ohio. They had a whole bunch of vendors and many of them will custom make things. One vendor was Wire You Waiting. They make really beautiful fine wire chains. I explained that I wanted a water wear attachment for my Rondo 3 and they came up with a custom tether for me. Now the chain is a little long but I found that clipping it to the opposite side of my head works. They only charged me $15 (most likely since what I have is very much a prototype for them). They would love to make more of them. Here is a link to the Facebook post pictures. In the picture I don't have it clipped to the other side of my head and the way it is clipped in the picture it did swing around a bit too much and create extra sounds for me. I have used it in a pool once so far and it stayed clipped. I don't think I would take it in an ocean or a lake but it may hold up. I would contact them to see what they can make. It looks a lot cooler than other options when it comes to securing processors.

PamelaG
Thank you for all the links! I actually ordered the ear gear after you posted it, and the sale was ending that day so I'm really glad you mentioned it. So I'm excited to see how he likes it and hopefully it will help!
