Another example of CI users and parents designing accessories

I saw they’d posted to FB but was waiting. Think I might get two of these. Looks like it’ll work with the audiostream adapter too.

Seems like their two toddlers have given the design quite a test and it passed! @Lauren

Should be ok for me then too 😉

Mine are going for frequent flyer miles so it’ll be nice to not have to scurry after both a processor and a cover. Usually they go opposite directions when they pop loose.

I really like the slip covers. They don’t interfere with the bottom of the Rondo 3 so it works with the AudioStream adapter, charge on the go cable, and looks like it would accommodate the clip attachments too.

@Lauren

does it still work with the Rondeo charger guide?

@Mary Beth it actually makes for a very tight fit on the Rondeo. There’s still enough contact allowed but just barely. If there’s anything to jostle them around it would likely be enough to stop the charging process.

The slip covers pop off easy enough so recommend removing before charging for those that are using the Rondeo cradle.

@Lauren do the CI slip covers fit while the AudioStream adapter is attached to Rondo 3?

@Mary Beth Yes. There’s only one correct way to put them on. There’s space enough for the Med-El retention clips too.

Love your graphite covers and thank you for explaining and for the pics!

Finally accidentally knocked one Rondo 3 off my head at the gym. Was wiping sweat off my head and the towel sent the processor flying.

The bumper guard kept the processor and cover together and the locking mechanism of the AudioStream adapter kept the adapter connected to the processor.

Nothing seems worse for wear (except me because today was leg day).

My audiologist noticed the slip covers and asked about them. Had at least one patient in mind that could use them so before I left my appointment I jotted down the Etsy information for her to retain for later.

I try to pay it forward as much as possible so my appointments are evenly split between my CI stuff and shop/industry talk.

@Laurenare you using the audiostream retention clip too, or just the retention clips that came originally (pre audiostream)

@Deanne I’m not using any retention clips. Just the CI Slip covers, strength 3 magnets, and careful to not let anything bump my head.

Since getting the AudioStream adapters, my right processor has fallen off twice and both times it was bumped by something. Only the second time the AudioStream adapter popped off.

Left processor hasn’t fallen off at all.

@Laurensounds good. My dog, a 120 pound Newfoundland, has assisted with my rondo coming off a couple of times, not to mention a few clothing mishaps on my side. I am still a little leery to go without any clips. The connection with the audiostream seems secure. Maybe I just need a bit more time to get to that comfort level….

@Deanne when my cats go in for a head bonk and bump into the processor they will try to smack them off my head. Because clearly the processors just attacked their face. Thankfully it’s only when I’m in a recliner so the processor subjected to their wrath drops onto my shoulder and not the floor. I’d hate for a dog to get ahold of and chew them up, as the worst my cats can do is run off and hide them (still looking for the two lost earlier this year by the way).

I was surprised that one time the adapter came off as they have a small locking mechanism that prevents too much movement most of the time.
