Audiokey2 is disabled when using telecoil

Hi all,

When I plugged telecoil adapter to Rondo3, the audiokey2 app in my samsung Galaxy s24 became disabled.

Is there anyone having same issue or just me?

Is there any way to fix it?

I am asking because sometimes sources of sounds are too loud and I have to adjust Rond3 volume but it was disabled ... so to avoid my brain was shaking vigorously by loud noise, I have to take Rondo3 off my hair and put it back repeatedly ...

Can anyone shed me some light of how you adjust Rondo3's volume when you are using telecoil?

Thank you

@JohnNadashki when you’re using telecoil with Rondo 3 are you putting the processor into flight mode?

If you are doing that to stop the ticking sound then that is why the remote functions are disabled. Flight mode disables the built in BTLE so the processor cannot connect to either AudioKey2 app or the physical remote (FineTuner Echo).

If you aren’t utilizing flight mode I’m not sure why AudioKey2 wouldn’t be working (I don’t use telecoil with Rondo 3). Hopefully someone else might know.

Hi there,

Yes, I put Rondo3 into flight mode to remove anoying ticking sound.

It seems Rondo3 has bugs. Can this ticking sound be fixed?  So I don't have to put Rondo3 into flight mode, then I can use the volume adjuster in Audiokey2 to control the loudness to the level that I feel safe?

Thank you

Tagging @MED-EL Moderator for any other fixes that might have come up since the original question and solution of flight mode. Or possibly future fix.

Thank you Lauren!!!

One more request:

Is there anyway Rondo3 developers can code Rondo3's software to talk directly to Microsoft Window 11 operation system without going through middle devices such as AudioLink or Telecoil Adapter?

I found only way for me to use Microsoft Team meeting application running on Window 11 OS (to meet with other group of people) is either using Telecoil adapter with Telecoil loop wire, or Audiolink devices. Currently, it is very cumbersome for me (us!) to carry around all wires and devices to go to work, then have to setup when I move from one meeting room to other meeting room. I hope this will not be a huge ask!!!

Lauren,

If this is not a forum to make processor's features change, please let me know if you know where to make this request.

Thank you!

@JohnNadashki  I don't use Teams as much as Zoom but my hack would be to log into the meeting a second time from a phone or tablet for audio if I wanted to use my Audiostream (Sonnet 2 or Rondo 3).

Same as @Tim if I want to stream a meeting directly I join via phone or tablet. There’s currently no way (that I’m aware of at least) to stream directly to Sonnet 2/Rondo 3 on a laptop/desktop unless it’s already compatible with that type of streaming without some intermediary device. Be it the AudioLink, telecoil, headphones or other.

Apple is working on incorporating the MFI streaming into desktops/laptops with their next OS, Sonoma but you have to have the right generation device. I got my iMac in 2021 which for the iMacs is two years too soon so even when I update to Sonoma I won’t be able to stream directly until I can upgrade my iMac.

I am not a huge Windows user so cannot comment on that software, sorry.

Hi again,

Microsoft said starting from Window 11 24H2 forward, it supports hearing aids and cochlear that have LE audio

Using hearing devices with your Windows 11 PC - Microsoft Support

Meeting on the phone or tablet are not working for me. The meeting I have daily is setting up as following:

I go to the meeting room with colleagues. Then we open computer where there is Microsoft team meeting application running (MS Team is similar to Zoom) with big screen TV to meet with other group members who are from different states and cities.

I can hear most of members who are physically on same room, but I can't hear other team members who are on the Microsoft Team. Their voices were faint, soft, mumble, or somewhere deep in their throats!!! thus, streaming from computer to my hearing aid and CI definitely help me a lot. The cumbersome that I have when I migrate from one room to another room, I have to unplug all the wires and plug them back in other room ....

If Rondo3 supports LE Audio, then next window 11 24H2 should work fine with Rondo3's  streaming without the need of middle device.

Do you know if Rondo3 support LE Audio?

Thank you

Only if you get or have this:

I got two as soon as they were available and really like them. I haven’t tried streaming from anything other than a phone or tablet though so am not knowledgeable on if it will work for your situation. Recommend contacting Med-El and/or reading up on them before buying to make sure they’ll work for what you are wanting to do as they are not cheap.
