first, Along with each one of the companies that sells CI's also comes a little flavor of the country in which it is based.

Cochlear = Meat pie.

AB = Hot dog.

Med El = Schnitzel.

. I do wish Medel could hold a hearing celebration convention evey few years similar to a competitor does as i would love to meet many if not all of you.

That's an idea I've had for a while Adam. Make it around July 2014 in the US and I'll be there with bells on.

Matt

This would be pretty cool to do. I know one of the other CI companies does it and it is a big deal.

I really do hope though that you pack more than bells to wear.

You guys are too funny.

Count me in on a 2014 MedEl shindig too.

Matt, Dont forget the vegemite!

I wasn't sure how well it was known - most people probably block out their first memory of ever tasting it.

I have a few mates from down under who have told me about it but I would imagine most people at least have heard of it back in the mid 80's from Men At Works song that mentions it.

From what i can tell, you love it or hate it.

Vegemite was probably down there as a bad experience when I was down under. Not an experience I wish to repeat! Now peanut butter, there is a great experience!

Sandy, what exactly does it taste like?

Adam it is an acquired taste.  It is hard to describe - maybe a savoury salty carmel flavour with a kick/bite/ bitter tang?? Marmite is more gooey and has more sugar so  NZ kids tend to prefer that to vegemite.  I lived in Aussie for a while so was forced to switch to vegemite and now I prefer that to marmite. The key is to start off small - very sparingly with butter and move on to a thicker layer as your taste buds allow and if you so desire. It's great with cheese or chips. Tongue out

Lisa, Adam & Matt,

A get together with all the MED-EL users sound like great thing to consider for next year. Could it be held at MED-EL USA headquarters in North Carolina?

Sid, I would love to do something like that. In the end that is a MEDEL decision to make.

Adam, it is definitely an (un)acquired taste and trust me marmite is not much better. Stick to peanut butter. It does taste good with cheese.
