Deanne
I have a program for music which has the microphones set to omni. I don't know if the wide open settings for the filters or the omni that does it, but I hear more natural sounds in that setting. So what are thoughts on whether it's the lack of filters or the microphone settings .... or is it just both. After my last mapping, they turned off one electrode. With that, I've lost a lot of the progress I've made in my journey. When I really want to hear, I jump into my Music program because there is a richness that isn't there with my other 3 programs. There are drawbacks since so many sounds can drive me crazy if I'm not careful - i.e., fans, coffee pot, vacuums, etc. Is it worthwhile to have an omni program that matches my everyday one.... and I'm planning on requesting an earlier mapping to work on my issues after my electrode was turned off. HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted September 22 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted September 22 @Deanne I prefer the openness of omni mic setting and use it as my always program. BUT- it is not just a different mic setting switch to omni mic setting. It is a program that we set each electrode’s MCL while in omni mic setting. This prevented it from being too loud. For me, natural mic setting (which is also used a lot in the adaptive intelligence mild option) is too restrictive. Deanne
Deanne
interesting, I will definitely be talking with my Audi - I had my music program on during the morning chat, I heard so much more than when in my everyday one. Anthony Canada
@Deanne if I was bilateral I might feel different about the natural mic setting but with only one "good" ear I try to squeeze what I can out of it. My everyday program is omni with all of the noise filters set to low. I have a second one with the filters off for when I want everything. My other two programs are adaptive mic for difficult to hear in rooms and one for streaming that turns off the microphones. Deanne
Right now, I have 2 programs with Natural, 1 with Adaptive and the last with Omni. The second Natural is a louder copy of the first which is my everyday. I have 2 things I want now, a copy of my everyday with omni instead of natural and I would like a streaming program. Right now, I use my audiolink to stream when I know I have background noise I can't filter. It would be nice to be able to manage the microphone volume when streaming.... HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted September 22 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted September 22 Yes it would @Deanne User control of mixing ratio while streaming has been on my wish list for years. Doesn’t look like Sonnet 3 offers user control of mix so it is still on my wish list. Along with a sealed rechargeable battery design that used the extra space for more battery power equaling longer battery life in shorter sizes. Deanne
absolutely! Both are necessary things that seem to be missed..... that sealed battery would help with additional moisture protection which is always (!) welcome Mary Beth
jcech344
On a related question, I have noticed that touching either Rondo or Sonnet, especially near the mics produces a very loud sound. Doing the same with my hearing aid does not. This can be very annoying as there are many times when this occurs, like wearing a hat, putting on glasses, even a windy day. Why is this so much louder than my HA?
