Remodeled from the ground up, it does what you liked about the original Rondeo but now AudioStream and Attachment Clip compatible. Three corresponds to Rondo compatibility and Lite because it uses 30% less material. It will be up for sale this weekend for $16 for one and $30 for two and only available in matte white! eBay link to come soon.

Will you be ordering?

(Tested by @Tim... huge thanks for printing and testing all five revisions!)

Nice job on the redesign of the Rondeo John!

Here's a picture showing the Rondo 3 with Audiostream.  Also fits with Audiostream retention clip.

Features of the Rondeo 3 Lite:

  • Has relief in the underside to allow for the Aircharge's charging circles.
  • Rondeo legs do not surface so it won't scratch but are long enough to be stable.
  • Tactile feedback makes it easy to place it it in the dark. (With the R3 Audiostream, my Sonnet 2 is relegated to a backup and I moved my Aircharge to the bedside table.  I place the Rondo 3 in the Rondeo and don't even bother looking at the lights.  I know it will just work.)
  • Keeps my Rondo 3 charging with or without audiostream and/or clips
  • No tilt caused by Audiostream (Original Rondeo's also worked with the Audiostream but the increased distance and less stable position were not ideal.)
  • Should still fit and work for Rondo 2.

For original Rondeo users, you can cut out the cross bar where the Audiostream sits to get it flatter but the Rondeo 3 Lite is nicer.

I get no commission on Rondeos. Just glad that we can find solutions to making our CIs work better for us.

Looks like a great redesign!  Everyone I know who has used the original Rondeo loves it and reports that Rondo 3 charges up every night.  No more charging error surprises.

Not trying to cut your lunch @John Schulzbut I've got the .STL files for this one up on the Printables site if people have access to their own printer.

@John Schulz

If you post the eBay link once it is up and running, I will share it

Here is the eBay link!

My printer was misbehaving and it took some time to fix it so it would print correctly. Sorry for the delays!

If any Rondo 2 users are interested, I will send a Rondeo 3 Lite at no charge if you report whether it works for Rondo 2. Please reply or direct message if interested.

Here is the STL file repository for the Rondeo 3 Lite for those wish to print it for themselves (non commercial use).

Just ordered Rondeo 3 Lite. Thanks so much for doing this! I was using a fat rubber band to corral the Rondo. This is much more elegant!

Great, thank you! I'll hopefully have it out on Monday.

I'll resurrect this old thread.

There was a discussion of the Rondo 3 charging cradle in Mary Beth's HearPeers session today.

Here are some quick links:

  • Rondeo Lite charging cradle, downloadable files for 3D printing. Available on Printables and on Github for download and printing. (We call our cradle the Rondeo as in Rondo + Rodeo corral=Rondeo.  Also, the Lite version is better in many ways than the original.)
  • Rondeo Lite available on eBay for those without access to 3D printers - I make no nothing off of the eBay listing or any Rondeos.  I've paid to print almost two dozen prototypes of the original Rondeo and Rondeo Lite and have given many out to people over time.  I'm just glad that it  provides a little support for a CI wearing engineering student at the same time from our HearPeers community.
  • Mike Austin's cute little bug downloadable file.  (Looks neat - I'll print one next week and give it a try.)

We are still working on adaptable designs for general round Qi charging cradles.  Coming up with a near "universal design" that can accommodate many diameter is much trickier!

@Tim - I can see some ways to sort this out without much hassle.  Give me an idea on the range of diameters (or widths, in the case of rectangular versions) of charging pads you'd need to cope with, and I'll whip up a prototype.
