Hi, I'm a new CI user, with questions about Sonnet EAS use.

Recommended Posts

I was activated at the end of July, 2024, and used Rondo and Sonnet 2 until October 24, when my audiologist gave me a loner Sonnet 2 EAS processor.  I'm using  a temporary foam-like ear piece for the acoustic component. I like the quality of the sound but  I've found the temporary ear piece problematic.  It's difficult to insert properly and tends to work its way out of my ear.  When it shifts, it seems to actually muffle the acoustic sound I hear rather than improving it.  I'm sincerely hoping this will resolve when I get my new ear mold and permanent processor.  Also, the battery life of my rechargeable batteries has declined.  I'm looking for some encouraging words.  Has anyone dealt with these issues and/or have any advice about how to use the acoustic insert when my equipment is upgraded?  If it doesn't improve, my preference would be to return to normal Sonnet/Rondo use.

I don’t have any experience using EAS but you may prefer using disposable Power One batteries for long battery life.

I have a Sonnet 2 EAS processor for my left ear. I previously used a temporary earpiece, but I just got a new mold, which is definitely better and more comfortable. Although the battery life seems to be slightly shorter, it's not a significant issue for me. The Effective Auditory Stimulation is definitely worth it, as the sound quality has improved, especially in the lower tones.

Thank you, Michael.  I appreciate the feedback.  My first few months after activation were great but the last weeks with the temporary has been frustrating.  I'll stay optimistic and hope for similar good results when I get the new mold.
