Low pitch after switch-on

Recommended Posts

I am three weeks after switch-on and all voices (and a lot of other stuff, I am guessing) sound about one octave lower than they should. Has anyone else had this problem, and how long did it last for? Word recognition is excellent for ladies voices, but male voices are almost impossible because they are so low. Strangely though, I can discriminate between all the notes on a piano keyboard. Any suggestions welcome.

Russ.

@Russ.Ezzy

in the US OTOPLAN is used prior to surgery for surgical planning based on images of our cochleas for electrode selection.

After surgery a post operative CT scan showing electrode positions in our cochleas can be used for frequency allocation instead of default frequencies.  This is referred to as anatomy based fitting.

Users have commented on 2 different types of anatomy based fittings. Outer hair cells and spiral ganglion.

Some users have commented on too much bass tones.  Some have switched to default frequencies.  There appears to be a lot of variation in user experiences.
