masona
In the UK we are entitled to have 1 cochlear implant under the NHS, do you still wear the BTE hearing aids as well as the cochlear implant because I'm thinking with 2 difference sounds quality would confused the brain? According to Addenbrooke's at Cambridge Hospital 30% coped with just the cochlear implant on it own and 70% still wear the BTE hearing aids with the cochlear implant, how do you cope? mogster
Hi, I'm in Canada and we have the same criteria for one implant. I used to wear my HA with my CI and it was fine. The only reason I no longer wear a HA is that it doesn't seem to help much now. The brain isn't confused by the two and in some ways the HA helps with the quality of sound.
