John

How did your ride go this past weekend?

You know you really should let everybody know that you are bionic. Then again they might catch on with you wearing the horns. either that or think your from texas.

Looks like a good ride John! Did you wear your Rondos while you rode?

Chuckie, they won't fit under my helmet. the OPII were encased in Earegear covers on top of a red cycling cap. Did 38.96 mi this morning at an average speed of 16.20 mph. the cycling cap is a recent addition and it really helps to channel sweat away from my head and away from the OPII.

when you say "cycling cap" I'm assuming you mean the tiny caps with the tiny bill, right?  If so, I might give that a try.  Anything to help with moisture resistance, right?

actually Chuckie there are a few different kinds. the kind you are reffering to and there are skullcaps as well that you wear under your helmet to absorbe sweat and keep your head cooler. in theory anyway.

Knowing the stylish John, he probably wears the one with the small bill that you described. you have to keep up appearences when riding a Madone you know.

Adam and Chuckie, while I do have an authentic Carrefour TDF cap, I am referring to a red skullcap with a small tail. I am amazed at the amount do manly man liquid it catches and funnels to the back.

I think you and I both have had more than our share of practice developing our patience. I'll make you a deal, you stay out of the hospital and i will.

  • 2 weeks later...

I wear the skullcap when I ride but found that it doesn't do much for me in the way of keeping my processor dry during the ride.  I'm so used to riding without my processor now that I actually prefer it anyway - I bring it with me though and keep it in my cycling "wallet" (has my cash, clif bar, tube patches, etc.).

I must admit - it has been a couple weeks since I've been on my bike.  Work has gotten WAY TOO busy in the last couple of months and I haven't had very much ME time.  I'm on vacation for 2 weeks right now so I think I'll go spin for a bit...

chuckie, what is your skullcap made of? you might try different fabrics to see which works best. Now get on that bike and enjoy your vaca.

I wear this: http://www.dowrap.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=DWMWC&Category_Code=SVS

The OPII are carefully contained by their EarGear cover and fit snugly between the band of the cap and my ear. I am not saying that my OPII are bone dry at the end of my ride, but I don't experience moisture and connectivity issues. I also put the OPII in the Zephyr drier. The coil goes on top of my cap, not underneath so I think that that also helps

I wear red to match my bike, gloves and helmet! Yes, I am a fashionisto! Try it, you'll like it.
