Hi @mshaley2

You and your child are about to start a wonderful listening journey.

Typically, audiologists place a magnetic coil on our head and run a test of the internal implant.  We do not hear or feel anything during that test.

Then the audiologist attaches a cable to our processor and puts our processor and its coil on our head.  The audiologist slowly increases current (volume) to set our starting point.  We hear sounds during that.  Then the processor is turned on to using its own mic and we start to hear.

Enjoy the start of your child’s journey.  It’s perfectly normal to feel anxious.

Wishing your child the best!

Actually the AVT is fun and rewarding.  When you see your child hearing more and more, you will be motivated to keep up the AVT.  Lots of WOW moments in store for your family.
