I absolutely love the direction Med-El is going with INDIVIDUALIZED cochlear implants to match our unique cochleas. (Check out OTOPLAN).   This is the best article I have seen which shows how each cochlea needs its own specially selected electrode array.  Electrode array options are what led me to choose Med-El.  I love the images in this article.

I saw that, Anthony posted it on the Med-El Facebook group.  From what I can tell, my anatomy is boringly average, but the potential this brings to folks like Joe (I'm still astounded that after THREE tries he's bilateral) is incredible.
