Wow I just found a neat video of how the Synchrony Pin Implant is installed.

Wow, @Kara of Canada - that explains a lot.  I wondered why only the bottom edge of my implant is flush to the side of my head - I had the idea that they did more drilling for the whole implant, but all they're really doing is enough to ensure that it won't move, and drilling for the pins.  No wonder the incision is so short!

I was thinking the pins would be pushing against the skin but they are under the implant itself.

That part I knew because I downloaded the surgical protocol right after my surgery.  (Yes, I'm a geek).  But for some reason I was imagining that the drilling was more extensive.

Very interesting! I wondered how they did the pins...I even tried to feel them out. Never found them and now I know why ?
