@Marion nancy

I am glad you have an appt with your surgeon soon and so sorry to hear that you are experiencing dizziness.  No fun at all.

Some people have reported dizziness and a general sense of not knowing exactly where they are in space associated to problems with their CI MAP.  These people seem to not experience dizziness after sleeping overnight with their processors off but experience dizziness throughout the day with their processors on.

Some people have reported BPPV and have benefitted from PT sessions or the Eply Manouver.

So it’s great that you are going to your surgeon and getting things diagnosed correctly.  I hope you feel better soon.

Keep us posted.  I hope things are sounding better each week for you.  Activation was in November, right?

@Marion nancy - yes, it's good that you're going to see your surgeon, and as Mary Beth said, if your surgeon suggests it, the Eppley maneuver can be of great  help.  I had benign positional vertigo for weeks once, some years back, and saw an ENT specialist who performed the Eppley maneuver.  The relief was instantaneous.

Good luck!

@Marion nancy

Can you tell us more?  You saw your audiologist after having trouble with dizziness and she decreased your volume?

She did another map much quieter. Left the original if I wanted to try louder.  After talking to you Mary I went back to the quieter new map and so far not so tipsy. Hope it was the mapping that caused it.  She is a  fantastic audio with loads of patience and saw me the next day .  She made the ASAP appt with the dr. She kept in contact and was worried

All is well.  I am so blessed to be under the care of my wonderful surgeon .audio . And the teaching hospital that is looking after me.

Mary Beth.  It’s BBPV. He did a treatment in the office.  Should it come back he told me to come in immediately.  What a kind understanding gentle surgeon.  Smiling at the word again.

Thx everyone for ur support

Follow up wit praise for Sunnybrook hospital.  Not only was I given an emergency appt.  the waiting room was standing room only.  I was immediately put into an examination room to wait quietly with the nurse checking in until the surgeon was free to see me.  I only have raise for all of them.  Hopefully with care about turning my head all is well even though it is freezing and blowing here in Canada.😎

I’ve experienced mild balance issues ever since I began wearing Hearing aids 20+ years ago. Never a problem to be concerned with at that time.

After my final implant surgery (1 on right, three on left) I was dizzy in post op and leaving the hospital- I mean spinning dizzy!

it got a little bit better over time and I still deal with balance issues more than I did in my HA days.

I had 4 appointment with a physical therapist specifically for vestibular therapy. Insurance only allows for 4 visit per year 🙁

I learned some specific exercizes then which I should do but I’m lazy about exercising
