@Mary Featherston

I am not sure.  I think at least one person here chose Rondo 2 as activation kits.

When I received my Sonnet via a Sonnet voucher promo (like the plus Rondo 2 promo), I was sent a form to complete to choose all the color options of the various pieces.

@Mary Beth - interesting.  It makes sense.  I just learned on the FB page that a guy who got his Rondo2s as an upgrade received water wear and some travel cases, neither of which were in the promotional kit.  I understand that, but he also mentioned that he'd have liked to be able to choose some of the kit contents - like, instead of a remote, maybe the external battery pack.

So today has been a very long day. I put on my fully charged Rondo 2 at around 5:45 a.m. Saturday and save and except for 1 hour to shower and get ready I wore it for the entire day until the battery died at at 12:31 a.m. Sunday.

So by my calculation the battery lasted for just under 18 hours but hey I'm not complaining! I don't usually have such long days.

I got dying battery beeps for about 8 minutes before the battery died.

Thanks @Jewel for your Rondo 2 battery update.  I hope you post every few months so we can see how the battery life is holding up.

My rondos lasted so far 22 hours

i noticed my new remote is smaller than the one that came with rondo

this new remote also has a nice case

my wow moments was the rain hitting the window

my landlady put music on and I could tell which instrument was playing

not bad for three days of wearing

I tried to post the photo of the new Fine Tuner in the case

it was room for three battery must be leftover from rondo

roger select is small first I have to charge it then bring it in to the Audi on July 23 for the next appt

do you have any problem returning things you don’t need for something you want

like extra waterproof cover

i have almost two of everything that I can’t use but would like to get more of what I need

i know that the box can’t not be open

thank you very much

@Carolmarie

Many of us call the Fine Tuner our “remote”.  Is your new one the Fine Tuner remote?  Is the actual remote smaller or just the case that holds it smaller?

Check with your audiologist about any exchanges of unopened items.  I’m not sure if that is allowed or not.  Having extras of some items though can be helpful in the future.

The Roger Select is quite small.  It reminds me of Chip Ahoy Chocolate Chip cookies.  Smile.  It’s a terrific remote mic.  Have fun playing with it.

Will you have your processors that were set for your first side programmed as back ups for your new side?

In your new Rondo 2 kit did you receive...

-Rondo 2

-extra mic covers

-charging pad

-small case that holds charging pad and Rondo 2

-waterwear pack

-leashes and clips for hair/clothing

-Roger Select

-Roger MyLink neckloop receiver

-Fine Tuner remote

-case for Fine Tuner remote

Anything else?

Gripper that you peel and stick on your head to keep rondo2 from sliding around but the rep said it lower the sound quality

cleaning kit

Big shopping bag

tester for parent

i was eating cookie boy they are loud

i still have problem controlling the loudness of my voice

my first rondo2  is now the backup for the right ear Audi programmed but right now no magnet my skin is thick and I use magnet 4

good thing I had on on the first rondo2 and brought it in

i was hoping to put it on the left side but everyone was nervous to tell me that I will never hear in that ear it took a year for the Audi to find out from the doctor that it was not possible

i just wish they told be from the beginning so I didn’t have to wonder and wait will I and won’t I now I know and sometime it still hurt but I glad I can hear with the right ear

Your first side CI experience was heart breaking.  You are a very strong person who persevered through it all and braved your second side.  I am so happy that your second side is off and running to such an amazing start!  Yay!

-GripWear (I forgot about that.)

-speech tester device

What is in the cleaning kit for Rondo 2?

Is your audiologist getting you a magnet strength 4 so you have a working backup?

The cleaning kit was not for rondo2 the rep from Med-el said to not use it

now I have two of them

it has blow tube brush and a screwdriver

I guess they were packing the boxes fast and didn’t check afterwards

the rep will be back again soon

my Audi still have a lot to learn

have a great weekend

thank you very much

@Carolmarie

I had tinnitus in both ears for decades.  Here is what happened to my tinnitus.

Right side

prior to CI surgery was very loud

immediately following surgery was shockingly quiet

upon activation was not noticeable while wearing the processor but very weird and loud when removed for bed

a bit later was not noticeable while wearing the processor and much quieter at night when the processor was removed

left side

prior to CI surgery was loud

immediately following surgery was very quiet and a different sound than before

upon activation and a bit later was not noticeable while wearing the processor and much quieter at night when the processor was removed

What had been happening to your tinnitus?

  • 1 month later...

My Rondo 2 has been ultra reliable until today. Battery died after 3 hours.

Not brought with me the back up battery pack or wireless charging pad...🙄

Probably my fault as trying to find a different way to charge Rondo 2 without lights blazing in the middle of the night...been trying the small travel pouch & zipping it shut once on charge...must have slipped off the pad last night...pfft.

@Andy

Bummer!  I’m sorry for your unexpected quiet day.

You may want to be careful about closing in the Rondo 2 on the charging pad because it may overheat.  Any chance you can relocate the charging pad to another room or use a vertical item to block the glowing light instead?

Well, I’ve got my Rondo 2 on charge, I tried using the battery pack, but it wouldn’t stop beeping. I’m therefore borrowing the holiday loaner whilst watching TV & my Rondo 2 charges up.

Previously I’d been keeping the Rondo charged up under the bed, with a large box lid over it to cover up the bright lights. It was getting annoying that it was out of reach if I needed to get to it. I’ll be using the new travel pouch Medel gave me all the time now.

just hope the beeping stops on my Rondo 2...🤞
