@Carolmarie

facial twitching is something that our audiologists usually can correct by MAPping changes.  Have you asked for another MAPping appt? Med-El has audiologists who can join in our appts if our audiologists invite them.

I am sorry this has happened.

I hope it gets fixed soon so you can start enjoying your Rondo 2!

@Carolmarie ask your audiologist if they are using MAESTRO 7.0 system software. This upgrade includes triphasic pulses which are usually successful at minimizing or suppressing facial nerve stimulation.

Hi

the rep from med-el was with my audi

i am the only only with rondo in the Buffalo ny area

even the rep never saw anything like it before

they went as low on the map and still my eye twitches

they said to wait and check the c-scan that I had done for my right ear implant surgery in May

i am just frustrated that I am not able to hear as of now

@Carolmarie

Help me remember.  You have 1 CI side correct?  Do you use a hearing aid on the other side?

You were activated with a Rondo 1 processor?  You aren’t able to use your Rondo 1 processor either?

You have had a very complicated journey.  I hope things get sorted out soon.

It was very  complicated surgery

i had to go back in to surgery the next day to remove a piece of bone that hit the nerve

i was activated with rondo while my face was still paralyzed

i do not have any hearing on the right side

i asked for rondo right from the beginning due to being unable to wearing anything on my ear

thank you so much for listening

@Carolmarie I hadn't answered because I have no advice, but I'm watching your journey and wishing you well.

Best wishes!  I hope your medical team sorts this out.

@Carolmarie

While you are waiting to get this all sorted out, are you using any speech to text apps to help you understand what people are saying or are you speechreading everyone?

If you are interested in speech to text apps we have some members who are using them and liking them.  Let us know.
