Any funny stories of times your coil got magnetically attracted to something other than your head?

This happened early in my CI journey.....

I had a hilarious CI moment at work today!  The Fine Tuner fell out of my pocket.  When I reached down to pick it up my low battery alert went off. Then my head got too close to the metal cabinet and my D-coil went flying off!

Right after I got my first CI I was in a conference room with a couple of co-workers.  The room happened to have a metal shelf in it, and the shelf was behind me.  I leaned back in the chair and the shelf acquired a CI.

@Mary Featherston

I bet your co-workers’ eyes were as huge as my student’s eyes were when my processor was dangling from the metal cabinet.

@Mary Beth - we laughed.  Both Briana and Dave had been hearing my story all along.  I make a point of engaging people at work - making the point that yes, I have magnets in and on my head, along with electronics - but I can be normal (well, ha, no, but you get my point).

The student I was working with when my processor flew off my head and magnetically dangled from the metal cabinet is a CI user too.  Her eyes were huge and then we both cracked up.  However we both respected our distance from that cabinet after that!

At the lab, where I work.  .  If I ever get too comfortable around equipment..  and if I happen to lean on hood stash, door, by instrument bench or an occasional fridge. Someone might tell a joke or say something funny,  and I'd lean my head back laughing.   Then I must laugh it off while trying to gracefully reclaim my stolen coil.  All the metal items listed above fight hard for the coil. It's ok if it happens amongst friends!!!
