dwb01d
Hello everyone, I was implanted on June 13, 2019 and activated on July 9, 2019, thus far my experience has been one of dealing with static, ringing and high pitched sounds constant. This week on July 25, 2019 I will have my 3rd programming session with the Cleveland, OH VA. Hoping each session will reduce these sounds and allow me to focus on hearing words. HearPeers Heroes Mary Featherston Posted July 25, 2019 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted July 25, 2019 Hi @dwb01d - the high pitched sounds and ringing and whatnot are normal. Your brain will learn what to do with these sounds and you'll start to realize that the oddities are going away. Welcome!
dwb01d
Thank you for the response, yesterday was my 3rd programming session at the VA with good improvement, still experiencing the interference sounds but picking up actual words. I believe you had asked what type of CI devise I had, Cochlear Nucleus 7.
HearPeers Heroes Mary Featherston Posted July 28, 2019 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted July 28, 2019 @dwb01d - nice, I'm glad you're seeing improvement. The more you rehab, the better it will be! My third mapping I was hearing the high-pitched beeping sounds too. It will fade away and voices will start to sound normal.
