Mary P. Miller
I am new to this group. I had a cochlear implant in my left ear June 18th of 2019. I had a hereditary nerve deafness that was progressive. My father and grandmother both had it. With hearing aids, I only heard 16 percent. Since then, my hearing has improved 50%. I am amazed! The church choir sounds amazing! I love music, and was in chorus and choir many years ago, before my hearing got worse. I am able to follow along with choir now, and that makes me happy. I try to understand television and use captions still, but am able to understand some without the captions. I am very happy to be part of this group and share my experiences with others, and hear their experiences. I had my surgery in Fort Myers, Florida. I have been in Florida for 43 years, coming from Chicago. Mary Beth
