Free live transcription on basic (free) Zoom accounts now available by request

Zoom announced that it is moving forward to offer free live transcription to basic/free Zoom accounts later this year.  In the meantime, people with free Zoom accounts who need live transcription can request to receive that feature early.  Just complete this form.

It takes a few weeks so be patient.

Zoom live transcription works differently than GoogleMeet.  In GoogleMeet any participant may turn on live captioning at any time.  In Zoom, the HOST must have live transcription as a feature.... must have turned it on for their account online under settings/meeting/advanced/closed captions ON and check the box to enable live transcription AND during the actual meeting the HOST must turn on live transcription by selecting it at the bottom menu.  Then participants in the meeting will all have the option to turn on live transcription as well if they choose.

It works well.

Thanks for the tag @Mary Beth Funnily, Wife Daughter and self have been experimenting with Zoom through the Google Browser  this evening, and it does give subtitles accurately that way.... but it keeps wanting to use the downloaded app and doe's not always use zoom (Forced) in browser. Early days but getting there.... and getting bogged down with the technology as well !
