As Mary Beth stated there are other apps you can use such as Angel Sounds and CLIX from AB.

I also sent a note to the Speech Banana support group.

I got an email from the Speech Banana team. They have fixed the bug Mary Beth and others described. They are asking people to try the app again. The email correspondence is below. Currently works with IPad.

It is at: https://www.facebook.com/speechbananajhu/

We have updated SB and believe that we have corrected the bug.

Web and android versions should be available later this year.

Subject: Persistent bug in Speech Banana

Hi. Downloaded the latest version from the Appstore. There is a serious problem with the app which unfortunately discourages people from using it and makes one lose confidence in the app.

Sometimes the sentence that it says does not match the answer. This was verified by a person with no hearing loss so it wasn't just how I was hearing it. It happens on a kind of regular basis.

I hope you can help with this.

Are Web and Android versions of the app being developed?

Thanks

One approach my Audi took was to make a change, of course ask how it sounds in her quiet office, but she then would say try it for a coule of days, make notes and contact her if we need to tweak it. This could be not a good solution though if you live far away from the clinic
