RachelH
Our 18 year old bilaterally implanted son is going to college this Fall as a freshman. He is attending a private school because of the smaller class sizes. How did you transition to on campus living in a dorm with a normal hearing roommate? He has a Sonic Boom alarm clock and wears a FitBit. He needs both to get up now. Not sure a roommate will appreciate the buzzing/vibration of getting up. HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted March 14, 2022 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted March 14, 2022 @RachelH Wishing your son the best at college. Definitely learning to use an alarm that only alerts me has made my wake up routine easier on others. smile I used to need a large vibrating alarm too. Over time I learned to respond to just my FitBit.
Hicksy
ILuv Smartshaker in the pillowcase works well for me. I sleep like a log but wakes me every time.
Jason77
I have used an Apple Watch set to max haptics for years. There has only been one time I have not responded and I am a heavy sleeper. I used to be on call a lot and needed to have something that would wake me up to phone calls in the middle of the night. My wife greatly appreciated my phone no longer ringing in the middle of the night and no longer needing to punch me to wake me up when it did.
