Marv408
I just got my implants a month ago just wondering how long it took to get to the spot where you wanted it to be or most of the problem went away
HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted May 5, 2022 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted May 5, 2022 @Marv408 congratulations on your CI. Which processor are you using? Things improved for me rather quickly. The aural rehab practice I did everyday helped speed things up.
Marv408
Sonnet 2 right now I’m having trouble with always hearing a sound like a washing machine. It’s only when it’s on
HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted May 5, 2022 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted May 5, 2022 @Marv408 It may just be part of your journey or it is possible that you are hearing threshold sounds. Your audiologist can test to make sure your threshold levels are set correctly. One of my ears handled the default thresholds fine. The other ear needed to have threshold levels manually set by my audiologist.
Dianna
Hi marv, i too heard many "fan" "running water" and i would say sssssss sounds right when i put my processor on. I would have to find it and hear it and see it. One was the clock in my room added to the house fan. Last summer i had a sound i couldnt "find" and it was a cricket. We also have a cat water dish that recycles the water...it took me a day to recognise that. I live in the country outside of town i finally recognised and heard the train one night, not just wistle but the actual train several miles away. It takes a bit of time to identify sounds, it can be so fun to find sounds!! Good times ahead my friend! Hang in there!
