Med-El recently announced a new partnership with Starkey on a hearing aid that will directly stream simultaneously with a Med-El processor.  Many are waiting for more details.

Meanwhile it seems like there is a bit of progress for streaming simultaneously to an ASHA hearing aid and a Med-El Sonnet3/2/1 or Rondo 3 IF users connect the new AudioLink XT via cable or dock to the sound source.  Sonnet 2/1 and Rondo 3 need to be using their AudioStream/AudioStream adapter.  Sonnet 3 has it built in.  This is an improvement and will help bimodal users while on their computers, tablets and while watching TV.  It also will help with telecoil and FM (FM requires using the FM adapter for AudioLink XT and a three prong receiver like Roger X).

Direct wireless streaming without using the dock or cables for bimodal users seems to remain the same.  Android phones using dual audio will stream to both the ASHA HA and the Med-El Sonnet 3/2/1 or Rondo 3.  Sonnet 2/1 and Rondo 3 need to be using their AudioStream/AudioStream adapter.  Sonnet 3 has it built in.

Apple still does not support dual audio so for iOS bimodal users the choices are limited to:

- attach phone via cable to AudioLink XT

- use BT around the ear headphones

- use a BT neckloop like Artone (Sonnet 3 & Rondo 3 do not have built in telecoils.  AudioLink XT can be a telecoil intermediary device.  Rondo 3 needs to use its AudioStream adapter.)

- purchase an android phone that supports dual audio

- if anyone has additional suggestions please add them
