David L. Hoffman
I don't know quite what to expect here. I had a cochlear implant in my deaf right ear in June 2015, and was activated at the end of July. Immediately upon activation in the audiologist's office I was hearing normal words and conversation...no bells, no buzzes, no cartoon voices. The level of success is different in every hiring environment. I'm going to stop hear, and see if I'm just talking to myself. Happy New Year! HearPeers Heroes Kara of Canada Posted January 10, 2016 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted January 10, 2016 Welcome David!! I had a similar experience as you. I was able to hear voices at my activation. Only been activated for 5 weeks. Love every minute!!!
HearPeers Heroes Ivana Marinac Posted January 10, 2016 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted January 10, 2016 Well, let's be weird as much as we can - the Gang's ENT is checking in. So David, what do you say - can we fulfil at least part of your expectations? Oh, by the way - I am not a CI than a Bonebridge implantee but I like to hang here with the CI Gang! David L. Hoffman
This is David again. Wow, I didn't think I'd hear from anyone! There are two situations in which I hear pretty much perfectly: 1) one-on-one conversations in a quiet room; and 2) On FaceTalk. Try FaceTalk instead of the regular phone. For me it's spectacular! I also hear my car's GPS woman perfectly. Getting close with TV and car radio. hadron
