Lauren
I’ve tried both the live captioning and the new call transcript feature (RTT/TTY) Didn’t get much benefit from the first and the latter was way too clunky and difficult to use. Hopefully Apple quickly releases some fixes for it.
HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted September 23, 2022 Author HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted September 23, 2022 @Lauren I tested Live Caption with iOS16 for live voices speech to text. It has worked well in that situation so far.
Lauren
I’ll give it another try at some point. My tech has been weird and (lately) randomly selecting things for audio in/out. I’ve been having to diligently check that everything is routing correctly. Even at the last HearPeers meeting my computer suddenly decided to completely change up the audio/mic settings and reroute everything even though my preferred peripherals were still set as default. Sometimes even my phone tries to use the audio steam as the mic so that was one instance where the live captioning on the phone wasn’t working. It’s almost like stuff is doing it on purpose at this point! Demoniac and Mary Beth 1
HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted September 27, 2022 Author HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted September 27, 2022 OS 16 Live Captions with voicemail If your phone does not automatically transcribe voicemail messages, you can use this Live Caption feature. Make sure Live Caption is on and listening. Press play on the voicemail. Wait until Live Caption begins voice to text and then expand the Live Caption window.
