Kenattenberger
Hi. I am Ken Attenberger and I have two med el implants. One I have had almost nine years, the second for 3 years but was recently reimplanted because over half of the electrodes slid out of the cochlea. I absolutely love my implants as they have been life changing for me. I am no longer useless in crowds and can even hear pretty well in restaurants. I watch tv now without wireless headphones, hear on a regular phone and cell phone, and I listen to music again. I do have a question for bi-lateral users. I have an alarm clock to wake me with a vibrating disc under my pillow. That works great. Is there any kind of alert for smoke detectors or tornado warnings. It is only a problem at night when I sleep.
HearPeers Heroes Adam Posted September 14, 2016 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted September 14, 2016 Nice to meet you! I use an alarmm that vibrates on my wrist. I've used the under the pillow shake awakes but it would sometimes slide out with my turning. I wasn't crazy about that so went with the wrist. Harriss communications has MANY alerting options for the deaf. I would check out their website. glad to hear you are enjoying your new hearing. adam

HearPeers Heroes Adam Posted September 16, 2016 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted September 16, 2016 Yep, if you are looking for something hearing loss related, I can pretty much bet that you will find it there. You can also have a catalogue sent to you if you would like. Prices are not bad either
