I was implanted three years ago and have happily enjoyed this miracle. This week I have developed pain under my magnet, felt as a headache. Anyone ever heard this?

Hi welcome to hearpeers. Yes I had this if I change my magnet. I wear a 2. I changed it to a 3  as it was sliding around a bit. I got a headache from it.

As Kara said, the magnet strength can cause discomfort.  Other things can cause discomfort too.  You may want to discuss this with your CI team.

If magnets are a bit too loose yet moving up in magnet strength is not possible, ask about using the new Med-El GripWear.  People started using it recently and so far the reports are awesome.  I have not seen info on it yet on the Med-El website but it is in use.

Thanks Mary Beth. It seems to be good. I was testing it as my hair is long and sometimes pulls off if I move my hair.

Hi Candace, thanks for reaching out to our community on HearPeers. As you are experiencing pain, I strongly suggest speaking with your hearing specialist or local MED-EL Representative for hands-on support and advice. I have sent you a private message with further information. Kind regards, Leigh

Candace,

did you ever figure out what was going on with your implant? We are hoping that you finally got the pain under control. Please let us know how you are doing.
