DeafblindinAZ
Hi guys. No CI yet. Brought it up with my PCP. She said the best place to start would be with an ENT. She referred me ti Valley ENT in Glendale, AZ. I'll probably have to schedule the appointment myself online because right now the phone is impossible. Depending on my mom to call for me is an impossibility. When I expressed interest in an implant after my HA went kaput wasn't one of support. Rather it was "Why the h*** are you so bent on another surgery?" Flabbergasted to say the least. Through difficult communication with my doc I said something about an implant or a BAHA. Doc asked if I had spoken with anyone and I said yes off and on through a group on FB and here (HearPeers). I could feel the anger radiating off my mom. But I told the doc "I love my mom, but I want to be more independent in things like doctor appointments, making phone calls. Life basically." She left the office and came back with the referral which I didn't find out about until I went looking for it in my mom's purse. So now I don't know what to do. Pester my mom tomake the call or what? I'm kind of scared to ask her because she is so heck bent AGAINST me hearing for some reason. When I do actually get an appointment what do I do? What do I say? Do I write a letter? So unsure of everything right now. Quote Link to comment https://forum.hearpeers.com/topic/15284-ent-referral-angry-mothet/ Share on other sites
