Tim's Zoom for recent implantees - March 9th, 5 PM Pacific Time

Hello Everyone,

A couple of weeks ago  @Anne N , @Caroline, and I had a Zoom meeting as very recent CI recipients. We had a nice chance to share experiences as new users. We had a good time and decided to make it a regular thing.

The idea is that this Zoom provides a smaller group of fellow rookies, with perhaps one or two veterans to help make sure that we aren't just "the blind leading the blind."

We are doing it on the second Thursday of the month at 5 PM Pacific Time (Los Angeles).

That helps provide a little schedule variety as well in terms of day of the week, time (helpful for our Australians like Caroline), and platform (Zoom vs. Google Meet).

All three of us are using a CI on a single side (sometimes Hearing Aid on the other) so SSD CI topics are particularly helpful and likely more common among recent recipients.

We're not trying to grow it into a big gathering but if you would like to join our next Zoom on Thursday, March 9th, please respond to me by sending a "Hear Peers" Message, including when you were first activated.  The target audience is 2022 or 2023 first activations but we are a friendly group and want to welcome those that are new activations at heart too. Just helpful to build a sense of community among people that are at similar stages on the CI journey.

It doesn't take the place of Mary Beth's great monthly meeting, I'm going to that as often as I can!  I've only been activated for a month and still learning.

Tim
