Minor thing but shouldn't this be the more generic "cozy" rather than the British derivative of "cosy"?

Pretty sure this is intended and not a mistake. UK spelling is generally the standard in international communication. It's actually the US version that's a derivative of the "Queen's speech", in 19th century a Noah Webster attempted to revolutionise the spelling to reflect actual pronunciation and wrote the American Dictionary of the English Language.

In Canada typically both spellings are accepted, with slight favouring of the British English (in schools and official communication). For this specific example, outside of North America, "cosy" is the preferred form.

Ah, makes sense. Thanks for that explanation! Growing up in the Midwest, I had never seen that spelling despite occasionally watching UK based content on YouTube.
