hearagain
Hello! This is my 1st post. Took me awhile to figure out how to do even that...Yes, Low Tech person. I'm supposed to have implant in spring months. thus far not very impressed with what I've learned via videos and posts. Big concern for me is MRI - has anyone had a MRI with the implanted device in place? If so, how did it go? thanks, M.N.
HearPeers Heroes Kara of Canada Posted October 18, 2017 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted October 18, 2017 Hi welcome to the group. @hearagain What type of hearing loss do you have? What has been disappointing for you so far? Maybe we can clarify.
HearPeers Heroes Mary Beth Posted October 18, 2017 HearPeers Heroes Report Share Posted October 18, 2017 Hi @hearagain. Welcome! my CIS have given me so much hearing again. The best hearing I have had in many decades. Feel free to ask questions. I have not needed an MRI since being implanted but my friend, @Joan , has and she shared her experience about it. I tagged Joan and hope she shares her experience again for you. Wishing you the best.
Joan
@hearagain, as @Mary Beth mentioned, I have had 3 MRIs of my head since being bilaterally implanted in 2014. It is important that your radiologist follow Med-El's protocol but I can assure you having an MRI with your Med-El implant is not a problem. In fact, I actually fell asleep while getting my last one! If you have specific concerns regarding having an MRI, I'd be happy to help in any way I can. All the best to you! Mary Beth
