RONDO 3 Earbud Connector

Recommended Posts

I've been using a hack I designed that enables me to have one AirPod attached to my Rondo 3 and the other in my "hearing" ear as normal.

But someone let me know about this earlier today:

https://shop.de.medel.com/produkte/rondo-3/in-verbindung-bleiben/2627/rondo-3-earbud-connector

Looks like it's only available in the German store, and it only works with the Sony Linkbuds (WF-L900). The Linkbuds kinda defeat the purpose for me, as I like the noise canceling feature of my AirPods.

but others might be interested

Cheers,

Mike

@Mike Austin

thanks for that link.

I am interested in how you are using your AirPod with Rondo 3.  Will you tell us more about that?

Just a bit of EVA foam and some craft skills with a knife, soldering iron, superglue and an old cover:

Ok, latest version. Will test it out on an upcoming long haul flight.

Makes use of the noise canceling g features of the AirPod Pro and between iOS settings and AudioKey 2 settings, can get a good balance between CI side and "normal" side

@Sbrown - I'm using the AirPod Pro 2's (albeit ones from about 4 years ago). It uses the silicon bud to secure it in, so potentially would work with other brands as well

It works pretty well! Noise cancelling isn't as good as on my "good" ear, but I think if I printed it with TPA or one of the other flexible materials, it might make a better seal around the RONDO 3 body.

Do you have access to a decent quality 3D printer? I can send you the files and you can try it for yourself

Mike
