Many of us are trying to find a way to use Roger transmitters (Roger Pen or the new impressive Roger Select) with our Roger 21 Sonnet receivers and be able to hear the Roger input only.

We know this is possible using the Roger MyLink receiver neckloop instead of the Roger 21 integrated Sonnet receiver but we really do not want to have to use the neckloop which changes the sound to telecoil transmission to the Sonnet.

We know we can have the Roger 21 receiver adjusted by changing the Easy Gain to +8 dB, but we have two problems with that.

1.  Someone must have either a Roger Touchscreen Mic or a Roger Inspiro to actually change the Easy Gain in the Roger 21 receiver.

2.  The end result is still a mix of Sonnet mic input as well as Roger input.

Recently a user was told by Med-El to have his audiologist set a dedicated program in such a way that “sets the Sonnet mics to quiet”.  What does that mean?  How can our Sonnet mics be set to quiet? If this is actually possible to do, would it give us a 100/0 mix ratio?

Any assistance will be appreciated.  Thanks.

Trying to receive Roger input only with the Sonnet’s Roger 21 receiver

Hi @Mary Beth, we've asked our Roger product specialists here about this and will give you an answer soon. Kind regards, HearPeers Support Team.

@Heywayne

No not yet.  I don’t understand how that is possible since Med-El processors are set at a 50/50 mix which can only be altered by using the Easy Gain setting on the Roger receivers (must be set with Roger Touchscreen Mic or Roger Inspiro).

Hello Mary Beth

I think there is not yet a solution to this problem. It's not a Phonak problem. It's from Med-el. Hopefully they can solve it by software.

I have Roger pen, Roger 21, Roger X and Roger My link. I can only listen to T or MT mode with Roger My link.

If I connect Sonnet to the Iphone via yellow cable that Med-el provides, I can only listen in MT mode. As with Roger 21.

If I connect Sonnet to the Iphone using a red cable that Med-el provides, I can only listen in T mode, but I can not listen in MT mode.

The only solution I found is Roger my link. Roger My link has a very big advantage. You can control the volume.

The only problem with Roger my link is that it is annoying to wear the Roger My link and the Roger pen at the same time.

I no longer use Roger 21 and use Roger my link with Roger pen.

@Wind

Those exact reasons are why I do not use Roger at all.

With Artone 3 MAX BT neckloop I wear a tiny, small, light neckloop that can be worn under my shirt and have the option of MT or T and I can adjust the volume via the Artone volume control.  Nothing attached to my phone or iPad.....just a BT connection.  And it is so much lighter and smaller than the Roger MyLink receiver neckloop.
