Bilateral CI users listening to phone by holding phone over processor mic

Today I had to make a phone call in a noisy environment.  While on the call, holding my cell phone over the Sonnet mic, I chose to pop off the coil on my other side.  Cut out almost all of the background noise.

 

Do any of you do that?

Just holding the phone up to my sonnet and going somewhere quiet.   Forgetting I have a choice on opposite side of my head 

Also saw my friend with rondo holding iphone up to the rondo and using some hoh setting on the iphone.
